Importance of Personal Customer Relationships

Customer Loyalty Jigsaw
.. If you start thinking about your customers in terms of relationships rather than transactions, where it's never about one deal, you'll build relationships.
(Charles Green - CEO of Trusted Advisor Associates, LLC)
The success of all business depends on its customers. If you have a strong and loyal customer base, your company will be successful. While it is critical to have a great product and amazing customer service, it is also important to your customers that you value them more than simply a transaction. Great sales people develop trusted personal relationships with their clients.
Trusted personal relationships are important in business because they help you weather the bad times with your customers.
Trusted personal relationships are important in business because they help you weather the bad times with your customers. Think about if you visit a restaurant that has great food and service. Wouldn't you tend to frequent this restaurant more because of your wonderful experience?

Now, unfortunately, after having a good experience a few times, the next time you visit the food isn't well made and the service is poor. You're less likely to visit this restaurant again anytime soon, right?
But, what if the owner had previously invested in building a personal relationship with you by sending you small tokens of appreciation on your birthday and anniversary? What if the owner asked you to come visit and give them another chance to make up for your poor experience? You'd be a lot more forgiving, wouldn't you? I know I have, and I did so because the owner invested in our relationship.

I came across a great article on "Inc." - How to Build Personal Relationships with Customers -
that highlights the benefits of such relationships and how you can build them. Two suggestions it makes are to 'Reward Your Customers' and to 'Start Small and Emphasize the Human Touch'. And that's the foundation of what we believe at Givenly and how our service benefits our customers. Wouldn't you say it's worth the investment?
